Laser Genesis: The Solution for More Radiant Looking Skin

Laser Genesis is a noninvasive laser skin procedure that treats patients at the cellular level. Dr. Norman J. Pastorek is one of the most widely recognized plastic surgeons in the world, and the Laser Genesis system is one of the many treatments he offers. Laser Genesis can reduce the signs of aging on your skin while renewing collagen and promoting cellular regeneration. Here is what you need to know if you are interested in a laser treatment for more radiant-looking skin.

What Does Laser Genesis Do?

Laser Genesis is an Nd:YAG laser that gets rid of bacteria on and under the skin. The laser also penetrates deeply enough to promote the natural regrowth of collagen. Laser Genesis offers multiple benefits by preventing acne outbreaks, shrinking facial pores, providing an even skin tone (reducing discoloration), and speeding up cellular regeneration. Laser Genesis Treatments can be used on a patient's face, neck, and chest. This procedure can be used on all skin types and on any type of skin color on the Fitzpatrick scale.

Conditions Treated by Laser Genesis

Laser Genesis can be used to treat a wide range of skin conditions brought on by aging or other effects. Here is a partial list of conditions that can be effectively treated by Laser Genesis:

What to Expect During Treatment

The skin of the affected area will be thoroughly cleaned prior to the procedure. Laser Genesis is a pain-free treatment. Most patients report feeling a warm and tingling feeling during the procedure. The patient wears protective goggles and the treatment takes about 30 minutes to complete, depending on the size and number of areas treated. You can return to normal activities immediately after a Laser Genesis session because there is no recovery time needed. There may be some slight skin reddening that will go away the same day as the treatment. Since it is a noninvasive procedure, there are very few known risks or side effects associated with Laser Genesis.

A full treatment schedule with Laser Genesis may involve six to 10 office visits. The results will be cumulative as the Laser Genesis stimulates the regrowth of collagen. Each office visit for a Laser Genesis treatment will be spaced out by several weeks.

Long-Term Results of Laser Genesis

Laser Genesis really will provide you with more radiant-looking skin. The procedure can provide permanent results when removing or reducing scars. Skin conditions like rosacea or pigmentation changes can be improved for a limited time, usually up to one year. A follow-up Laser Genesis treatment may be necessary to maintain results for these patients. However, if the patient maintains a consistent regimen of home care for their skin and takes precautions to avoid overexposure to the sun, the results of Laser Genesis can last longer than a year.

Dr. Norman J. Pastorek, MD, PC, FACS has treated thousands of patients over his 30-year career as one of the world's leading facial plastic surgeons.
