Why Botox?

Did you know that Botox can be used to treat many health conditions, including eye squints, excessive sweating, migraine, and even incontinence?

Botox Cosmetic is a cosmetic application of this powerful compound that a doctor or other healthcare specialist can carefully inject to improve the look of your facial expression. Botox Cosmetic can minimize the appearance of your crow's feet and reduce the frown lines in between your eyebrows.

Here are eleven reasons that you may want to consider Botox yourself

1. It is a simple and quick procedure.

Your skin is cleaned and disinfected. Then small needles are used to inject the Botox into the part of your face that has the most need to minimize wrinkles –typically between your eyebrows, forehead and crow’s feet by your eyes. The typical treatment time is 15 minutes

2. You can see the impact almost immediately.

Everyone wants fast results. After all, if you are concerned about your appearance and the health of your skin, you want it to be revitalized quickly. Botox earns high marks in that regard. Generally, you begin to see the effect within the first 72 hours after the treatment. The effect will be most profound at one week after treatment.

3. Your skin will look more youthful, and be smoother.

Botox is used in medicine to relax muscle contractions, as well as to treat Parkinson's and muscular dystrophy symptoms; here, it is used to reduce the movement of muscle in the face, resulting in smoother looking skin. A smooth face with a more relaxed expression has a younger appearance.

4. You can apply makeup immediately after treatment.

You are able to use makeup right after treatment, provided that you use clean makeup and you do not put too much pressure on the areas that have been treated.

6. Botox can be customized to your needs.

Your treatment can be subtle or more extreme depending on the look you desire. Our patients usually prefer a more natural look and this can be achieved with the proper placement and dosage of Botox.

7. There is virtually no recovery time from the treatment.

Botox is nonsurgical, while you might see slight swelling at the injection site immediately after injections, that swelling usually goes down within a half hour. People are able to fit treatment into their typical day without having to skip work.

8. It is semi-permanent.

The results of this treatment will gradually become less apparent. Since it is not permanent, people who are considering getting the injections out of curiosity, or prior to their wedding or another major event, can try it knowing that they will not be permanently altering their appearance. Typically the skin appears smoother and more relaxed for 3 to 4 months. For that reason, assuming that you do like the results, you will typically want to have treatments a few times per year.

9. Your frown lines are treatable.

The key target of this treatment is the dynamic lines, those that occur when you express your face by smiling or frowning. Static lines occur when you have been expressing so much that the fabric that is your skin gets a permanent crease. Once you minimize the facial motion with Botox, those static lines often look softer and in some cases, are eliminated. Any wrinkles that persist once Botox has taken effect, may be improved further with subtle fillers.

10. It's very affordable.

Cosmetic treatments are often expensive. Botox is reasonably priced, in part because you pay based on the number of areas on your face where it is being injected. The typical sites of injection are the crow's feet, forehead, and the lines between your eyebrows.

11. The only common side-effects are not terrible.

What negative impacts could you experience post-procedure? You might have bruising surrounding the site of injection –but that should not last long. Some patients may experience a light, temporary headache. Most side-effects are minimal and of brief duration.

Bonus Reason: Botox is no longer just for women.

One other reason that this treatment is becoming so prevalent is its growing use in men as well as women. They want to look younger and more at ease. In the United States, 453,281 men received Botox treatments in 2016, according to data from the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. That represents about 10% of the total adult number.
